Mold, dust mites and grass allergies: Don’t move to Dallas

Hello, I am very glad I found this site. I am just glad to know there are other’s out there as miserable as I am year round. I have non-stop swelling in my nose and it gives me constant pressure year round, oh and headaches to. I am a healthy mother of 2 and a happily married women other wise but find 300 days out of 365 miserable. So, if you suffer from mold, dust mites and grass dont move to Dallas. This is one of the worst area’s to live. I am starting allergy shots in 1 week. Will keep you advised on if they work. We have also thought about moving if they don’t work. Sad way to live huh? But if you suffer from constant pressure and headaches year round you will do anything for relief. Good luck to all!! TLP - Dallas

  2. Thanks for the tip! I moved from northern California where allergies were awful and since I am dating someone in Dallas was considering that. He says he does nothing but sniffle there and I must say that my exzema was way worse in Allen, just north of Dallas. My immune system was down and I was constantly tired and starving with no energy for anything.

I now live in Santa Maria, California and it is great, the best place I have ever lived. I grew up in Atlanta, which was really the worst place for allergies with all of the flora and fauna.

Santa Maria is warm and sunny but not too dry. There are not nearly the number of trees as just 30 minutes north of here where I used to live. There aren’t even many allergists or dermatologists practicing here…I haven’t noticed any, as a matter of fact, while there are dozens in the same sized towns north of here. That is my new indicator…get out the yellow pages and check to see how many dermatologists and allergists there are and then give some a call and see how long you would have to wait for an appointment…if it is a year (like it is in San Luis Obispo, CA) don’t move there! I also think there is a relationship allergies and how many shrinks an area has, but that is another theory, lol.

  3. Yeah, I get stuffy nose (can’t breathe!), dry eyes, and headaches too! I’ve lived in Bakersfield, CA (central CA), and in the Oxnard/Ventura area of California. Oxnard was good the first year or so. But, my allergies are now getting progressively worse.
