My wife (acute asthma) and I lived in Aliso Viejo, CA (South Orange County) and I posed this very question to her internationally known asthma physician - "If a person with asthma could choose to live anywhere in the United States, where is the best city to live?"...He quickly said, "Right where you are!"

Unfortunately we relocated from south Orange County to Central Oregon (Bend, OR) and her allergies to pollens, dust, smoke, et al, have exacerbated her asthma condition. We're researching now as to where to relocate - yet again. But south Orange County, CA is now likely to be priced out of our living wages.

Philly is a hotbed for allergies. As a Healthcare provider, I have seen many patients over 22 years who tell me that they never had allergies until they moved here. I also have allergies which seem to get worse every year.
