Allergies in Wisconsin: Is there a better climate? Maybe Arizona?
I need dry heat and no humidity or very low humidity. Where can you suggest. I am in Wisconsin now and I also have horrible allergies. To ragweed, grass, trees, molds and dustmites, cats etc. I was thinking of Scottsdale AZ. Do you know of a few climates that might work of me and that I could visit to check them out? I would really appreciate it. — Patricia, Wisconsin

I live in Mesa, a suburb of Phoenix, and suffer allergies almost year-round. My allergy doc says there are 49 known allergens in the Phoenix area — so I guess it depends on what you are allergic to! Dust mites and mold are not much of a problem here, due to the low humidity. Tree and grass pollens are a big problem; because of the climate here, there is always something flowering, and it’s so hot and dry that the pollen gets blown around for weeks (or even months) without a cleansing rain to clear the air. I grew up in Utah and never had allergies until moving to AZ.

I understand the feeling of having allergies.., but climate is definitely beyond our control. The best option for people who are prone to allergy is to consult somebody who is an expert on that aspect. Try seek advise…

I am in Wisconsin and it is just the beginning of March and my eyes are a mess! I have never had this reaction in March. What is brewing out there right now to make this happen?

It is just crazy to see snow on the ground and have my Spring allergies break out. They have never started this early for me. Usually, Mother’s Day. I heard the trees are what’s making Wisconsin itch.

This is for Bill-You must not have allergies, we all seek the advice and are under an allergist care but asking about better climates is a great idea. It sure saves time and money to have these comments from other people who have experiences at other cities. It is about helping each other out - what a great way- the internet.
