I have a little dog that starts scratching from early Nov. to Jan/Feb. to the point she has bold patches... I live in Fl. on the gulf side. Can anyone give me any idea of what is blooming at this time... she has had allergy shots and acqupuncture. I also use a topic itch spray on her, but nothing has helped, she is starting up again with the itching and crying...I dont know what else to do!!

For Cindy... I live in Florida and I am allergic to the orange blossoms that grow on the orange trees. I am a native Pennsylvanian. I am also allergic to several molds, grasses and other trees that are native to Florida.

Where is the exit door? I want to get off of this amusement ride!

Can't someone answer the original question.
What comes out here in the summer as far as trees that might bloom or flowers that alot of the population is allergic to. That is what I would like to know also. I do not have health insurance and if there is a certain flower or tree I can avoid or know it will quit blooming it might save money and give me hope for the rest of the year.

From Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City, Cleveland and Columbus OH ...give up dairy products and notice a big reduction in the mucous! Get tested so you know what you are dealing with and then educate yourself on natural ways to combat allergians. I have done shots in every area I have lived in and have had little to no success, treating symptoms and changing diet have been much more successful.
Good luck! Mary

MOLD, Tim. Highs in Florida can easily be 30,000 or 50,000. Highs in New York are usually more like 7,000 or 10,000. Capisce? Answer? MOVE.

Welcome to misery. I too am a mess from fusarium--a mold. I have been geting shots now for 1 yr and reached a maintaince dose. No help so far. I am still a mess. Sneezing, itch watery eyes. The prescribed sprays do more harm than good. There are days I say I am moving to Arizona. I have no advice.

When I lived in NY I was allergic to dust mites and dog. You should get tested. I think in most cases shots help. But not always.

Hey Tim, I empathize with your distress. Have you considered getting tested to see what you are allergic to? Certainly there are doctors (allergists) who can do this for you. However, if you are dealing with other issues, physiologically/emotionally, then getting help with your allergies may be very temporary. Allergens are best served by a stressed body. You might want to consider covering all your bases regarding "good" health. My allergy problems started over 10 years ago, and at about the same time I experienced some serious life changes. Since then I've been the pin cushion of several doctors over the years. Should have been dead long ago! However, in their search for what ails me, I've learned to do research for my own understanding. You may be experiencing reactions to mold, plants (which also carry mold), insects, etc. But first check your daily health. Are you getting REAL rest and sound sleep, at least 8 hours a day? The body needs this time to "regenerate". Are you eating more whole foods, less "convenient" foods? Do you get regular exercise, increasing your heart rate to move toxins more readily? Are you drinking enough clean water? Be aware of using too much bottled water, the plastic can break down and cause problems over time. But this is a different issue. The real solution is to take charge of your health, listen to your body, chart problems and solutions, and prayer. Don't forget God. When we turn our back on Him, how can He help us? He wants us voluntarily, not by force. God Bless.
