Hello, I live in Kentucky and been always having bad allergies usually during the spring time. 5yrs ago at the age of 33 I started having asthma. Anyways, I visited family members in Southern California (San Diego Area) and I notice I didn’t even had to use my inhaler. I was breathing good. I enjoyed it for 3 weeks of good breathing. Until I came back to KY and I was miserable again cause of my asthma acting up daily. I am considering to move my family to San Diego, California. So I can breath good.

Have you diagnosed or peared down what it is you may actually be allergic too. It would be to your advantage to find out, especially if you move around you can avoid that or those particular areas that host what you are allergic too. Interested!

Hi, I have lived in Northern California in the Oakland area for years and 4 years ago moved to Southern California – Long Beach. I had bad allergies in Oakland every year but no asthma. 4 years ago I moved to Long Beach and here I developed a really bad case of asthma with 4 hospital visits in the last 2 allergy seasons. Can’t say that I recommend California unless perhaps you are RIGHT ON THE COAST in a windy town where the wind continuously blows from the ocean and you live on the beach. And then just MAYBE… But, coastal California is EXPENSIVE. And, you’d probably have to drive inland to work. So… Good Luck.

Hi,
I have moved from Wisconsin to San Francisco Bay area in 2007. Ever since I have developed serious allergies round the year..
Doctors, ENT specialists are not able to help find the root cause of the issue.
I am trying to find whether there are any general allergies that were floating around in SF Bay Area..
Please help me by commenting this site.

Since I moved to Southern California, my asthma has been much better! But what helps me the most, is regular exercise, cardio, and deep breathing. It sounds like a no brainer, but some avoid exercise because of a fear of an asthma attack. Exercise is what has helped me.

Since relocating from HI to SOCAL in 1990, I developed allergic rhinitis- principally grasses year round and chronic sinusitis. In my case, ENTs say there is nothing wrong mechanically and do not offer surgical treatment. Allergy-Immunology medications and immunotherapy is ineffective at best.

I have lived in Northern California all my life and I have always suffered with allergies. I am allergic to the trees, grasses, pollens and molds. The desert area in California may be better, but I have always lived between Sacramento & S.F. Good luck, Annamarie, Calif.
