Little did I know that soon after I received this encouraging note from Ruth in Florida, the AllergyNursing.com website would go down. Ruth writes:
This is just a Thank you. Most sites that say they want to “help” you just want your email address first before you get any real info. Thank you for actually offering information that helps!
The “Allergy Climates and Seasons” area of our site was down for a week because of problems at our web hosting service. Partly this was caused by a hacker which damaged the site in a way that I had to reinstall everything once the site was back up. I had everything backed up pretty well, but getting all the plugins that make this site go to work again took some effort. My strabismus (see my strabismus blog at EyesApart.com) makes it difficult for me to focus my eyes for extended periods of time, so it’s taken me a little longer than it would have for most.
But sometimes during troublesome times, the greatest encouragement comes. While the site was down, Meridith in Oregon made my day with this note:
I’ve tried many different links, and it appears the climates database is down. I find this info incredibly useful, so I just wanted to make you aware of the problem.
Thanks to Ruth, Meridith, and all our readers for your continued support and encouragement. Now that we’re back up and running, I plan to post your Climate emails regularly again!
Blessings all!
Lois
I’ve been taking some time off due to eye surgery on 1/4/06. Originally it was scheduled in December. I shared more about it on December 6. I’m recovering well, and things seem improved. I plan to post more frequently again now! Thanks for your patience during this time.
Lois
I will be taking some time off for more eye surgery during the remainder of December. I’m expecting the surgery to go well, and to be much better by Christmas. I’ve shared more at my Eyes Apart website.
May you be blessed during this Christmas season, and I plan to be back here soon after the first of the year.
Update 12-7-06: My surgery has been postponed until January, 2006, so I plan to post here again soon.
People sometimes think desert areas are a great place for allergy sufferers. But our readers who have lived in the desert often say this is not so.
For example, just this week, we have received new comments from Brad, Tracey, and Jeff about allergies in the desert climate of Arizona.
For more on desert climates, see individual locations such as Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, etc. (We invite readers in the arid regions of Asia and other international areas to share their experiences as well.) You can also search for “desert”.
Be sure to read the comments under a post you find interesting. Just click the #comments link at the bottom, for example “3 comments.” If there are no comments the link will offer you an opportunity to be the first to comment.
To make it easier for you to keep up with recent comments and most popular posts, I’ve added links to these in the sidebar as well.
