My husband and I have lived in central DE for over 30 years. Most people have seasonal allergies. He came from New England without allergies, but now has gone from grass allergies to asthma with many sinus infections along the way. I went from no allergies to very minor seasonal allergies. He did submit to a sinus surgery about 10 years ago. Obviously, people are quite different. it is a very damp climate here most of the time, with ozone alerts in the July- Aug very hot period, the worst for him. We are thinking of relocating back to New England at a higher elevation; he thinks air quality is his big issue, so Vermont comes to mind. Does anyone have any advice on this? Or is it that much better to go out West? Some say, if you can live here, you can live anywhere , about DE; some say the Chesapeake and DE River cause a problem for the whole Delmarva peninsula. In any case, DE does not have a good reputation for allergy sufferers. – submitted by Debbie, central DE

Last week’s questions about allergies in Boise Idaho has yielded no comments. But it made me think. We’ve been publishing climate information here in Allergy Climates and Seasons for almost 2 1/2 years. Yet no one has written about the 8 states listed below. Are we to assume that these states are allergy-free? Please share any allergy experience you have had in these states.
